Books In The Dock
C H Rolph
This book was written during the 1960s when issues of censorship were very much to the fore. It was the time when Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Tropic of Cancer and Fanny Hill were considered to contain offensive material and therefore unsuitable for general and widespread publication.
There is a foreword by John Mortimer QC, author of the Rumpole of the Bailey series.
This is a 1969 edition of this book, first year of publication, and is an ex-library edition in excellent condition. It does have a plastic, protective cover and the pocket for the library card is on a blank page which may have been an addition. Overall, though, it is a nice collector’s book.
