The action is set mainly in London at the time when Sam Pepys was a rising power at the Navy office. A highwayman robs him and fellow passengers – but Mr Pepys’ documents seem to interest them more than watches and jewellery.

This is a lesser known compact volume that may be of interest to collectors. Originally published in 1973 this is a 1977 edition that is special for its exceptional condition (one small tear on dust cover). It has a true off-the -shelf look and is a neat little book
